How We Do It
SunBug makes it easy to transition to solar power.
Here’s how we do it:
Provide a Free Solar Evaluation
We will come to your home and conduct a complete evaluation to determine if solar is right for you. Fill out our
Free Solar Evaluation form.
Design an Attractive, Effective Solar System
We’ll design a home solar system that takes into account all technical and aesthetic considerations. For many homeowners, a solar solution has to both work effectively and be attractive. At SunBug, we design arrays that take into account all sightlines and issues of symmetry. We want to make your home solar system look as good as it works.
Generate a Detailed Proposal
We’ll present a detailed proposal customized to your site. Our proposals include full system cost, all applicable rebates and incentives, specific installation schedule, and expected return on investment.
Process all Rebates and Permits
If SunBug’s solution works for you, you'll sign a contract and pay a deposit. We will take care of processing all permits and rebates with applicable municipal and state agencies.
Install System
Depending on the time of year and the speed of rebate processing, we’ll install your home solar system one or two months from the contract. The actual on-site installation will take only two or three days. Most of that installation time is spent on your roof or in your basement with very little disruption to your home. Our professional team will work with respect for your home and property.
Flip the Switch
We’ll turn on your home solar system, thoroughly verify all components are operating properly, and show you how it works.
Monitor and Maintain your system
Once you’ve installed with us you’ll become a member of our
SunSpot program, so you have peace of mind that your system is fully operational.
How much sun do I get?
At SunBug, we use a Solar Pathfinder to determine how much sun hits your roof. This geometric tool allows us to visualize where and when your roof will be shaded across all four seasons. Its clear dome maps the outline of trees onto a graph representing all twelve months, so that with the help of specialized software we can accurately graph a complete annual shading analysis.
Join the Smart Grid
For a limited time, SunBug is offering a free energy monitor for its solar systems. Interest in home energy monitoring is skyrocketing, as seen by Google’s development of their PowerMeter and the federal government’s push to develop a national “smart grid.” Our SunWatch Monitor allows you to track your solar system performance in real time, and allows us to make sure that all is working properly.
